  14. <p>   Customs: Greek visas are required of holders of official and
  15. diplomatic US passports, but not of visitors holding US tourist
  16. passports and intending to stay less than 2 months. Visitors
  17. wishing to extend their stay must submit an application 20 days
  18. before the expiration of the 2-month period. No special
  19. inoculations are required, but health requirements change.
  20. Travelers should check the latest information.

  22. <p>   Telecommunications: Telephone service within Athens is
  23. satisfactory, and calls to the US may be made easily. Athens is 7
  24. standard time zones ahead of the eastern US.
  25. </p>
  26. <p>   Transportation: Streets and highways in Greece are
  27. hard-surfaced; smaller roads are sometimes rough and ungraded.
  28. Tourist wishing to drive must have an international driver's
  29. licence. The international car insurance card is valid if
  30. Greece is listed on the card. Intercity and local public
  31. transportation is adequate, inexpensive, and crowded at rush
  32. hours. Taxis are numerous in Athens, but because they are
  33. relatively inexpensive they are difficult to find during rush
  34. hours.
